I should have guessed that no full posts would get written in December. I had a particularly hectic one with a lot of family and work commitments. But to keep the momentum going into the new year, I’m still doing a wrap up post.

Substack: I’ve published 15 posts previous to this one since the end of August and I’m quite chuffed about that. I’ve enjoyed reading people’s thoughts via their own Substacks as well. It’s a good way to see things from different viewpoints, away from traditional media. I also have 169 subscribers which is lovely - thank you if you’re one of them!

Xmas joy: For so many of us (mostly women), I think the joy of Xmas is zapped by all the things we do at Xmas time. It’s the mental load on steroids at this time of year. Buying gifts, wrapping gifts, decorating, organising events, making dishes, and planning holidays. And for those with younger children, the whole Santa thing, Santa photos, and Elf on the Shelf.
