End of month wrap up with musings that didn't make it into full posts.
Was it just me, or did this October feel like it went forever?
First Class v Economy travel: I don’t think I could ever travel in a different part of the plane to my kids, and I especially could not have done it when they were younger. Think of this every time I hear a celebrity travels first class but puts their kids in economy, to teach them that luxuries/privileges have to be earned. I like the idea of teaching kids the value of something though. Think I’ve read that Robbie Williams and Gordon Ramsay both do this.
Japan is the new Bali: As a young teacher, I taught a Year 2 unit on Japan and I loved it as much as the students. As a result, I’ve always wanted to visit Japan but haven’t had the opportunity. However, seemingly every second person I know has recently been or is planning a trip to Japan. I think it has something to do with affordability but it has become the new Bali for Australian travellers. And that kind of turns me off. I’ve never liked things that are trending too mu…
